If you are dreaming of the airlines, a AVI50415 Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating) is a must.

As part of our VET Student Loans approved diploma, you will complete your Instrument Rating Theory Exam (IREX) and delivered the training to prepare you to sit your CASA fight tests for your Multi Engine Class Rating (MEA) as well as your Multi Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR).

Many organisations who are looking at taking on new pilots will consider someone with a MEIR before an applicant without, this training is something you should add to your resume.

Course Entry Points

Instrument Flight Training – PPL Entry 

Though both ground theory and flying assessments, completion of this phase, cadets achieve:

  • Instrument Flight Rating
  • Multi Engine Rating
  • IREX
  • 4 Commercial Theory Subjects

Minimum Duration: 42 weeks

VET Student Loan Approved Tuition: $75,000

Materials Fee: $1,000

Entry Requirements:

  • Hold Private Pilot Licence (PPLA)
  • Completed a minimum of 50 cross country command hours

98 hours Flying Training:

  •  23.5 hours single engine dual
  • 46 hours single engine solo
  • 28.5 hours multi engine dual

20 hours Simulator Training:

  • 20 hours in accredited simulator

Delivery

  • Ground theory – this involves CASA endorsed fight instructor led institution based classroom delivery, workshops, seminars, tutorials and case studies.
  • Required Commercial Pilot theory subjects.
  • Practical In-Flight Training.
  • Flight Simulation.
  • Briefings.

Instrument Flight Training – CPL Entry 

Though both ground theory and flying assessments, completion of this phase, cadets achieve:

  • Instrument Flight Rating
  • Multi Engine Rating
  • IREX

Minimum Duration: 13 weeks

VET Student Loan Approved Tuition: $38,500

Materials Fee: $1,000

Entry Requirements:

  • Hold Commercial Pilot Licence (CPLA)
  • Completed a minimum of 50 cross country command hours

34.5 hours Flying Training:

  •  10 hours single engine dual
  • 1 hour single engine solo
  • 23.5  hours multi engine dual

20 hours Simulator Training:

  • 20 hours in accredited simulator
