Flight Instructor Rating (FIR)

Description

Once you have obtained your CPLA, you are ready for the Flight Instructor Rating, Grade 3. Work as a Flight Instructor at any Flying School, sharing the passion of aviation and teaching others how to fly. As you gain experience, you have the capability of adding several teaching approvals to the Instructor Rating including Aerobatics, Tail-wheel or Instrument Flying.

For many Commercial Pilots a great way to build your experience and flying hours is to teach others how to fly. Our Instructor rating course exceeds the Part 61 MOS requirements by including 20 mutual flight training hours and a spin endorsement in the Super Decathlon. Our instructor course is a dual qualification including the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as part of our course structure.

At the end of the course you will have completed a total of 50 hours of flight training your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as well as compiling many briefs for your portfolio.

At TVSA we are always on the look out for casual instructors and we would normally regard those who have trained with us in high esteem.
