TVSA are proud to introduce – Pilot 101: An Introduction to Aviation.

This course is especially designed for young aviation enthusiasts who are wanting to study aviation while they are still in school.

Over 20 Saturdays you will complete; 7 hours of flying, 6 long briefings and some Basic Aeronautical Knowledge theory. There is no minimum age for this course, but if students would like to continue their study and achieve a solo flight they need to be at least 15 years old.

Whether you know this is your calling or just want to test the waters, our program will get you on the right path to a career or a passion in aviation. At the completion of this course you will be able to fly circuits and will only be another 7 hours from achieving a solo flight.

Course Breakdown

Flight Training

This introductory lesson will teach you how to control an airplane using primary, secondary and ancillary controls.

In this lesson you will learn how to maintain straight and level flight.

During your 3th flying hour you will learn how to enter, maintain and exit a turn.

Here you will learn how to steadily climb, descend and level off at a desired altitude

This lesson will show you how to recognise the signs of stalling and how to rectify these with minimum loss of altitude.

A circuit is when an aircraft is flown in a specific pattern within the geographic bounds of an aerodrome. This pattern consist of flying upwind, crosswind and downwind.

Additional circuit flights


For each practical flight there is a long briefing to explain the theory behind the action as well as preparing you for the flight.
BAK will arm you with that basic principles of flight and aircraft general knowledge.

At the completion of this course you have the option for further training.

If you purchase any further training options within 30 days of completing your introductory course, you will receive 5% of your purchase.

*In order to complete a solo flight, student must be a minimum of 15 years of age.

TVSA Pilot Training offers a complete range of flight training. From beginner courses, which will take you to Solo standard, through to your Commercial Pilot Licence, Instructor Rating and Instrument Rating training.

Terms and Condition 

  • There are no medical requirements to entry as all flights are dual. Holding a CASA class 1 or 2 medical certificate or a recreational aviation medical practitioner’s certificate is encouraged if the student would like to fly solo or continue training and complete a licence.
  • There is no age restrictions, but students are required to be 15 years old if they wish to go solo.
  • Students who are unable to make classes or flights must notify TVSA at least 24 hours before the schedule start time.
