Command Instrument Rating

Even though there is no requirement for an instructor to have operational experience in instrument flying, it is invaluable if they do! Better still, instructors who have current operational experience are available to you here at TVSA!

The instrument rating enables you to fly in non-visual flight conditions using various instruments to guide you. TVSA can guide you through either a Single-engine or Multi-engine Instrument Rating. These ratings consist of simulator and in-flight practical work.

Prior to commencing the synthetic trainer section of the rating, you are required to have completed an IREX (instrument rating examination) theory course. The exam must be sat and passed prior to the commencement of the single engine training. Refer to our theory section for course information.

Get endorsed on the Seneca and Baron during your Instrument Rating training!

Here at TVSA, we believe in conducting your instrument training in the aircraft types that you will most likely be flying for your first job. Conducting the multi-engine training in our Baron and turbo charged Seneca gives you a great head start when it comes to getting that first job.
