Flying Solo

Flying solo is an experience that you will never forget.

Not only is it a brilliant achievement for the student, it is also an immense sense of satisfaction for the instructor. Seeing the huge grin on the students face which doesn't disappear for days is very rewarding!

The minimum age for first solo is 16 and you are required to have satisfied the following requirements;

  • Passed the pre-solo exam
  • Hold a current class 1/2 medical
  • Hold a SPL
  • Obtained the level required by the Day VFR syllabus (refer resources)

There are no minimum hours to be obtained prior to first solo. When will it happen? When you have met the standard and your instructor believes that you are competent and safe enough to embark on your first solo flight.
