FLIGHT RADIO TELEPHONE OPERATOR LICENCE

Whilst you are a Student Pilot, you will need to study for and obtain a Flight Radio Telephone Operator Licence (FRTOL).

Whilst you are a Student Pilot, you will need to study for and obtain a Flight Radio Telephone Operator Licence (FRTOL).

To do this you need to:

• Pass an oral examination in communications regulations and procedures.
• Demonstrate to a Flying Instructor that you are familiar with the function and operation of an aircraft's radio equipment.

The radio licence will then be issued to you when you pass your General Flying Progress Test.
